The Cosmic Recipe: Tanuuj K Grover on Career Loss, Divine Timing, Numerology & Beginning Again
There is a strange space between who you have been and who you're becoming.
The old identity isn't working anymore.
The new one isn't fully formed.
And from inside that space, it can look remarkably similar to failure.
Tanuuj K Grover knows that space.
For more than 23 years, he was a professional chef.
Then life changed the recipe.
23 YEARS OF KNOWING WHO YOU ARE
Being a chef wasn't simply employment for Tanuuj.
It represented decades of his life.
Feeding people.
Creating.
Timing.
Precision.
Pressure.
Numbers.
Problem-solving.
Tanuuj told us he considered feeding and nourishing people one of the best jobs in the world.
But eventually his career became increasingly difficult.
Despite extensive experience, finding work became challenging.
And that followed another difficult professional chapter.
Years earlier, Tanuuj had launched a food business and experienced significant opportunities before watching the venture ultimately fall.
He had experienced the rise.
Now he understood the fall.
WHEN EFFORT STOPS OPENING DOORS
After being made redundant, Tanuuj spent nearly two years navigating career uncertainty.
He had responsibilities.
A family.
Financial pressure.
And decades of experience telling him he should be able to figure this out.
But he couldn't force the door open.
He described the internal battle beautifully:
“Me against myself.”
Sometimes a transition hurts because something outside of us disappears.
Other times it hurts because the disappearance forces us to confront the identity we'd built around it.
If I'm not the chef...
who am I?
THE MORNING EVERYTHING SHIFTED
Shortly after Christmas, Tanuuj woke up one morning with what he describes as a divine inner message:
“It's a new beginning.”
That was it.
No elaborate explanation.
No five-year plan.
A beginning.
So he started exploring.
Astrology.
Tarot.
And eventually...
numerology.
Something about numbers felt familiar.
Tanuuj had loved them since childhood.
He'd used numbers throughout his career.
And he'd always had an analytical desire to understand what existed beneath the surface.
He describes himself as someone searching for:
“The why behind the why.”
Numerology gave that part of him somewhere new to explore.
“NUMBERS ARE NOT A CAGE”
Tanuuj eventually studied Advanced Numerology, along with Numero Vastu and Remedial Feng Shui.
His approach draws from a broader ancient numerology framework, with different methods serving different purposes—including name work as one component rather than the entirety of his practice.
During our conversation, Tanuuj described numerology this way:
“Numbers are not a cage. It's a blueprint.”
That's an important distinction when understanding his philosophy.
Tanuuj doesn't view numbers as something meant to imprison a person inside a predetermined identity.
He sees them as information that may help someone explore themselves differently.
Numerology, Vastu and Feng Shui are spiritual/metaphysical traditions rather than scientifically established methods for predicting life outcomes, and listeners should approach them accordingly. What matters within Tanuuj's story is the meaning these practices created for him and how he now uses that framework in his work with others.
HIS OWN NAME CORRECTION
One fascinating example came from Tanuuj himself.
His original first name was spelled Tanuj.
As part of his study and exploration of numerology, he began using:
Tanuuj
He also incorporated K professionally into his full name.
And that K isn't arbitrary.
Tanuuj explained that it connects with his mother's initial and his father's middle name while also fitting the numerological calculation he was working with.
For Tanuuj, this is better understood as a name correction rather than a name change.
The intention isn't about altering someone's legal or professional documentation. It is about working with the existing name through his numerological framework to explore how its energy may be enhanced or aligned.
Whether or not someone shares his beliefs about name vibration, there is something symbolically powerful about this:
The man wasn't only creating a new business.
He was intentionally aligning the name he carried with the person he was becoming.
FROM RECIPE TO “COSMIC RECIPE”
Tanuuj's work eventually became Revum.
Through Revum, he offers consultation-based guidance drawing from ancient numerology, Numero Vastu and Remedial Feng Shui.
His work can explore personal direction, career, relationships, business, partnerships, name correction, branding and physical spaces through those traditions.
And suddenly the chef and the numerologist don't seem quite as disconnected as they initially appeared.
Both look for balance.
Both work with combinations.
Both require patience.
Both involve different ingredients affecting the whole.
Both require Tanuuj to analyze what is in front of him.
Which is why one sentence during our interview captured his transformation better than anything we could have written for him:
“Before I was making a food recipe. Now I'm making a cosmic recipe.”
The recipe never disappeared.
It evolved.
WHO YOU ARE TODAY DOESN'T DEFINE TOMORROW
During our conversation, Tina made another observation that belongs in Tanuuj's story.
We often place a timestamp on the moment we believe we've finally become who we're supposed to be.
We work incredibly hard to establish that person.
And then life changes.
Tina described it almost like turning to a fresh page in a passport:
Where am I going next?
Who will I meet?
Who will I become?
Tanuuj agreed.
At 43, he found himself in the middle of his life and career becoming someone different.
His response?
“Age is just a number.”
WHAT ARE YOU SAYING TO YOURSELF?
When I asked Tanuuj what he had needed to unlearn, his answer brought the conversation somewhere else entirely.
Don't curse yourself.
During his difficult period, he recognized how much negative self-talk had entered his internal world.
He was struggling.
And then criticizing himself for struggling.
The external circumstances were difficult enough.
His internal voice was making them heavier.
That's something that reaches far beyond numerology.
When our identity collapses, what do we say to ourselves?
You failed.
You're too old.
You should have figured this out.
Everyone else is ahead.
You'll never recover.
Or can we eventually make room for another possibility?
Maybe I'm changing.
SETBACKS AREN'T DEAD ENDS
Near the end of the interview, I asked the question we ask our Spotlight Guests:
What would you tell your younger self today?
Tanuuj answered:
“Setbacks aren't the dead end.”
He would tell himself that sometimes it is simply time to:
Recalibrate.
Realign your path.
And trust the timing.
Later, while discussing the difficult period when his career fell apart, he acknowledged something important.
He's different today.
And he isn't sad about becoming that person.
Because sometimes you cannot meet the next version of yourself while continuing to fight for the previous one.
THERE IS A SUN
Toward the end of our conversation, Tanuuj spoke about the familiar phrase:
There's light at the end of the tunnel.
But he changed it.
For him?
“There is a sun.”
Not merely a little light.
A sun.
Maybe you're reading this while standing somewhere between identities.
Something ended.
The next thing hasn't fully arrived.
You don't understand why.
And you're exhausted from trying to force the door.
Tanuuj's story doesn't promise that numerology—or anything else—will magically remove life's uncertainty.
It offers something simpler:
A closed door doesn't have to be the end of you.
Sometimes the setback becomes the recalibration.
Sometimes what looks like failure becomes redirection.
Sometimes 23 years of one identity prepare you for a completely different expression of the same gifts.
And sometimes...
life asks you to create a new recipe.
