Sedna & Sophia: The Journey Back to Trusting Yourself

There are moments in life when we realize the hardest relationship we’ve had to rebuild… is the one with ourselves.

In today’s episode of Awakening Truths | Makeupyourpower Podcast, our women’s roundtable explored the archetypes of Sedna and Sophia — two powerful energies that beautifully mirror the emotional and psychological journey so many people are currently navigating.

At the heart of this discussion was one central question:

What happens when self-trust gets interrupted?

Nichole opened the episode with an energy forecast centered around turning inward rather than forcing clarity. She spoke about noticing where the inner voice has gone quiet and recognizing the bridge between old emotional survival patterns and new embodied confidence.

That conversation naturally led into the archetypes themselves.

Sophia: The Quiet Voice of Inner Wisdom

Sophia represents wisdom, reflection, grounded intuition, and the pause before reaction. She reminds us that clarity doesn’t come from rushing — it comes from slowing down long enough to truly hear ourselves.

Sophia’s energy asks:

  • What feels aligned?

  • What truth have you been avoiding?

  • Can you trust yourself enough to pause before reacting?

For many of us, this transition from survival mode into self-awareness is unfamiliar territory. We are learning to stop reacting from fear and start responding from clarity.

Sedna: The Wounds Beneath the Surface

Sedna’s archetype carries the emotional weight of betrayal, abandonment, fear, grief, and the wounds we bury deep beneath the surface. Through the mythology shared in today’s conversation, Sedna became a symbol for the moments where life forces us to confront pain we thought we had already healed.

But Sedna does not surface to punish us.

She surfaces to reveal what still needs compassion.

Throughout the episode, the conversation moved into very real and relatable experiences surrounding relationships, emotional triggers, Mother’s Day wounds, unmet expectations, and the tendency to freeze emotionally when old pain resurfaces.

What became clear is this:

Healing is not about never being triggered again.
Healing is about recognizing the trigger, comforting yourself through it, and responding differently.

The Psychology of Self-Doubt

Stephanie’s “Purposeful Pause” segment beautifully grounded the conversation in psychology and emotional awareness. She explained that self-doubt often begins as a protective reflex — the mind attempting to keep us safe — but over time can become an overactive internal narrator limiting growth and possibility.

One of the most powerful reminders from the episode was this:

Self-doubt speaks in absolutes.
Growth speaks in possibilities.

That distinction alone can transform the way we speak to ourselves.

The Invitation to Rebuild Self-Trust

As the episode closed, Tina reflected on Sedna and Sophia as two ancient guides:

  • Sedna revealing the truth beneath our fear

  • Sophia reminding us that intuition is older than doubt itself

The conversation ultimately became less about archetypes and more about empowerment.

About honoring what hurts.
About allowing ourselves grace.
About recognizing where boundaries are needed.
About remembering that intuition often returns the moment we stop abandoning ourselves.

If this episode resonated with you, take a moment to ask yourself:

✨ Where am I still operating from fear instead of trust?
✨ What old wound is asking for compassion instead of avoidance?
✨ What truth am I finally ready to acknowledge?

Because sometimes healing begins the moment we stop fighting what we feel and start listening to what it’s trying to teach us.
